Davidsonville Athletic Association is excited to announce the formation of a girls 14 & under select softball team for the fall of 2018!  In this inaugural season we are looking to field only a single select team, however, with this launch we hope to gauge the interest in our DAA community to have a full-scale county program at multiple age groups as early as spring 2019. How quickly, or if, this expands will be based on the interest and feedback we get from the community.  Our plan is to offer multiple clinic opportunities this fall for interested players to get an introduction to the game to see if this is a sport they would like to try in the future.  Stay tuned for more information about those opportunities!

Tryouts for this select team are tentatively scheduled for August 6th and 8th.  The Davidsonville Gators 14U Girls Select Softball team will play in the Central Maryland League for scrimmage-type play and participate in 10 USSSA tournament events over the fall, spring and summer.

Our program will focus strongly on developing players through both fitness and softball skill training with the main priority to have fun!

We encourage all players to be pre-registered prior to the first tryout. Registering early allows us to plan our numbers and be better organized.

Please register at www.daagators.org.

What - The players will be evaluated based on their performance in a number of fundamental softball drills performed throughout the tryout sessions.

Evaluators - Current coaches will be conducting the evaluations.

Teams – Players will be notified personally of whether they made the team within two days after the conclusion of all tryouts.

**As mentioned above, please note that DAA is also determining the feasibility of beginning a full-scale girls softball program to begin as early as the 2019 spring season.

If anyone is interested in trying to establish a county or select team for a different age group please contact or .
