Meet at 11:30 am
outside of GATES D & E
near the Green Balloons for check-in
Tickets will be distributed by teams at DAA#2 on Wednesday, May 17 from 5:45pm to 7:30pm. Please send a team representative that can pick up and distribute tickets to teams at their next event (or that evening for Coach Pitch teams).
MEETING TIME AND PLACE
Our group is to meet at 11:30 am outside of GATES D & E at SCHAEFER CIRCLE at the GREEN BALLOONS (just outside the home plate plaza). We must be in line by 11:45 am for the parade so DO NOT BE LATE!
When you arrive, please check in with Scott, Aaron,or Amy, then proceed to your assigned coach. Do not just check in with the assigned coach.
Since some teams have only a few players and not all coaches will be there, we are combining some teams for the parade. We will post a list of player/coach assignments for the parade in the next day or two and have that list at the check-in. PARENTS - YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH YOUR ASSIGNED COACH BEFORE LEAVING YOUR CHILD AND HEADING TO THE STANDS. Please give your child's ticket to your assigned coach so that they can enter the ballpark after the parade. Each player and coach MUST have a ticket to re-enter the ballpark after the parade.
Parents, siblings and family members ARE NOT allowed in the parade line holding area with the players so once your child has been properly handed off to their assigned coach, please proceed into the stadium.
PLAYERS ATTIRE – UNIFORMS ARE A MUST
Players MUST dress in their complete Little League uniform (shirt, hat, belt and pants). Cleats are NOT PERMITTED on the warning track, so tennis shoes only. The Orioles may refuse entry to any player NOT in uniform. Don’t forget your sunscreen!!
COACHES AND TEAM PARENTS
Please make sure to wear your official South Maryland Little League shirts so that you can be easily identified and so you are permitted to march onto the field with the players. The Orioles may refuse entry to any coach not in uniform.
Coaches – we’ll have a list of your assigned players. This list will be announced in the next day or two. Please ensure that your assign players' parents have given you a ticket for each player designated in your group. All coaches and players must have a ticket to enter the ballpark after the parade.
Coaches, just a reminder, no one is allowed onto the field, parade participants must stay on the warning track. Also, no autographs or photos of the Orioles players are permitted.
Coaches, please at the end of the parade, escort your assigned players back to the stands to be with their parents.
Make sure to “like” South Maryland Little League on Facebook since we will be able to provide updates regarding parade information more easily via Facebook notifications.
If you are unavoidably running late or unable to make it, please let us know by sending a text to Amy (410-375-2167), Scott (410-375-5767), or Aaron (410-271-2758) – please identify yourself, your player, and your assigned coach so that we can be on the lookout for you.
This is a great picture opportunity! Although coaches and players in the parade are NOT PERMITTED to take pictures of or with the Orioles players, parents are permitted to take pictures from the stands. Get a spot early and don’t be discouraged if there are other parents in front of you, the leagues are divided into time slots, so the parents will probably move once their players have left the dugout and you can move into their spot! You do not have to stand where your tickets/seats are located. There are plenty of good spots to take pictures from. Don’t forget to check out the scoreboard, our organization name will be scrolling across it!
AFTER THE GAME – KIDS RUN THE BASES
Kids 14 and under are invited to participant in the Oriole’s “Kids Run the Bases” after the game. Families should line up outside of the ballpark near Gate D following the conclusion of the game. There will probably also be an announcement at the game. Please note that SMLL coaches and team parents are NOT escorting players for this event, this is strictly voluntary if the parents and players want to participate on their own.
SEE YOU AT CAMDEN YARDS !! GO O’S!!!
