Welcome to Adaptive Lacrosse

Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) is pleased to sponsor ADLax, an adaptive lacrosse program for athletes with disabilities, ages 6 & up. The goal of our program is to give athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities a true lacrosse experience. Equipment and/or rules may be modified as necessary to meet each individual athlete’s needs. Coaches will emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship,and skills development.

Registration

Registration is open for Fall 2016.  Click here to register a player or a volunteer. The $20.00 sport fee includes shirt, lacrosse stick and loaned equipment.  Scholarships are available for players who are not able to pay the sport fee. Please email adaptivelax@gmail.com for information.

Season format

The 2016 season begins Friday, August 26, 2016 with an equipment fitting and meet-and-greet.  All practices will be on Fridays from 5:30-6:30 at Davidsonville Park (NOTE new time!). Please see the field and gym directory on the home page of this website for location and directions.

In the case of inclement weather, practice cancellation emails will be sent by 3pm.   

2016 Game Schedule

ADLax players and athletes from area high schools will pair 1:1 to form "unified" teams that will compete with and against each other.  All "unified" games will be held during regularly scheduled practices (5:30, Friday evenings, DAA Park).  To sign-up to participate in your school's game (community service letters distributed), visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0b4ca9ac2aa1ff2-unified?1471989119999.  

September 17, HSC Adaptive Adventure Day, Trinity University, Washington, DC (optional, athletes and volunteers are welcome). See http://www.hschealth.org/adaptiveadventure for more information and to register. 

September 23: South River vs. Southern  (unified)

September 25 (Sunday):  DAA ADLax, HoCo Adaptive Lacrosse, and Parkville, No Limits! lacrosse clinic/game.  Both the UMD mens' and womens' lacrosse teams will be joining us for this first ever, intra-MD adaptive lacrosse event!  See below for details.

Time: 4:30-6:30pm, athletes should arrive at least 15 minutes prior in order to be dressed and on the field by 4:30.

Place: Cedar Lane Park West Field (Turf) 5, 5081 Cedar Lane (West), Columbia, MD.  

After the clinic/games, we'll have pizza at the field.  

October 7:     Severna Park women's lax unified scrimmage

October 21:   ****CHANGE:  end-of-season party!

October 28:    Practice, fastest-shot competition! Last practice,                            volunteer hours confirmation letters distributed. 

Volunteering

Volunteers of all ages are always welcome! Enthusiasm is the only requirement. High school volunteers are welcomed and can earn community service hours!  All volunteers must register on the DAA website in order to be placed on the email distribution list and receive verification of community service hours.
