South Maryland 2017 Opening Day

South Maryland Little League Kicks Off the 2017 Season with Opening Day on Sunday, April 23 at Bottner Field.

We'll have the usual parade of players, pictures, and skills competitions.  Please see the SMLL Opening Day page here for all the details and schedule !!!

Orioles Youth Day with South Maryland Little League

South Maryland Little League will once again participate in Orioles Youth Day on Sunday, May 21st when the Orioles take  on the Toronto Blue Jays.   The players and coaches will get to parade around the warning track before the game, then players have the opporunity to run the bases after the game.

Please read the SMLL Orioles Youth Day page for details.  This page will be updated when detailed parade information is made available.

Tickets are just $13, with some of the proceeds going to support South Maryland Little League.  You can purchase your tickets here:

Tickets will be distributed by the families ordering - order together if you want to sit together - and grouped by teams so that teams sit together !!!  The tickets will be distributed through the teams as the event gets closer.

The event is open to all players, families, and friends of SMLL.

Ticket sales are open until April 24.  This event has become regionally popular and as a result the Orioles have distributed fewer tickets to SMLL than in the past.  Tickets will be on sale until April 24 OR until sold out.

Game time is 1:35 pm and the Orioles typically ask for players and coaches to line-up around 11:30am for the pre-game parade.  Again, check the SMLL Orioles Youth Day page as we get closer to game day for details.

South Maryland Little League - is a chartered affiliate of Little League Baseball, Inc. of Williamsport, PA (www.littleleague.org) and has been serving central Anne Arundel County since 1997. We are a nonprofit organization serving 250 youths playing T-Ball through Little League Juniors.  We are community-neutral and focused solely on baseball.  Our players hail from Annapolis, Bowie, Crofton, Crownsville, Davidsonville, Edgewater, Harwood, Mayo, Riva, South River, and elsewhere. We provide a quality youth baseball program that focuses on teaching the skills of America's Pastime and also helps the young people of our communities learn to work together as a team, develop individual leadership skills and increase their self- confidence.  We have developed players who have gone on to play high school, collegiate, and even professional baseball.

We are staffed entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to creating the best quality program possible for the children, and we need your help to continue this tradition. All funds are generated through fees, fundraisers, business and community support like your own.

Our coaches and umpires attend clinics in the fall and winter for organization and team management, coaching, rules and umpiring.  The SMLL community enjoys the social side of our league at opening and closing days held at Bottner field, a field exclusively dedicated to Little League.
