County Varsity U Tackle football- About the Coaches

Lance Baird

Head Coach

This is Coach Baird’s first year as head coach for the 13U Davidsonville Gators. Prior to joining the team, he served as the varsity special teams coordinator and offensive line coach at St. Mary’s High School for five seasons, winning the MIAA B championship in 2017. He’s also coached at Franklin & Marshall College (Lancaster, PA), J.P. McCaskey High School (Lancaster, PA) and Annapolis High School. He is extremely proud to have coached at least one all-league player in each of his ten seasons, enabling dozens of student-athletes to continue their academic and athletic pursuits in college.

Baird played four years of football at Princeton University, where he earned second-team, All-Ivy honors as an offensive tackle his senior year. In 2002, he was awarded the Charles W. Caldwell Memorial Trophy, a recognition given annually to one senior member of the Princeton varsity football squad who has shown the greatest improvement over a four-year career.

A resident of Edgewater, Baird is married to his wife, Jamie, of four years and father of two beautiful baby girls. When he’s not coaching football, he works as the founder of Baird Consulting, a sales and marketing consultancy for industrial manufacturing companies.
