Davidsonville Athletic Association is a non-profit organization administered by a volunteer board whose mission is to promote, encourage, direct and operate athletic programs for the children and youth of the Davidsonville area, Anne Arundel County.
Each fall, DAA Boys Lacrosse offers LaxAcademy, a series of skill sessions held on Sunday afternoons at DAA Park.LaxAcademy for four Sundays in October. LaxAcademy is open to boys in grades K - 3. All skill levels and players are welcome.
These weekly sessions are a great way for current players to keep up their skills during the off-season and for new players to get a feel for the game of lacrosse and a leg-up on the spring season. Pass the word, invite your friends!!
LaxAcademy is held on the fields at Davidsonville Park (3042 Patuxent River Rd., Davidsonville). For the first meeting, please plan to arrive early for check-in under the pavilion.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring plenty of water and all equipment - stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads and mouth guard. (Please note: our Scooper-aged players - K and 1st graders - do not need shoulder pads). Cleats are highly suggested but sneakers will also work.
PLAYERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN STICKS
Whether you are borrowing from a friend, bringing your own or buying new, please make sure your son has a regulation men's stick - not a women's stick or a toy "fiddle stick."
OTHER EQUIPMENT CAN BE BORROWED (Helmet & pads)
We have a loaner program and distribution will take place before the first session. We provide - helmets, gloves, shoulder pads and arm pads. There is a $100 deposit check (payable to DAA) required to borrow equipment. This check is not cashed and will be returned when the equipment is returned. Please note: our program is intended for younger players. If your son is on the larger side, we may not be able to outfit him. Please e-mail us prior to LaxAcademy if this is the case, we will do our best to find a solution (firstname.lastname@example.org).
