Age Groups
New for 2012: Kindergarten
The Kindergarten program is an in-house league that will practice once each week. Clinics will begin the first week in April and will run through the end of May. The clincis are solely intended to teach the basic fundamentals of the girls' lacrosse game. Skills taught will include how to hold a stick, cradling, passing and ground balls.
Uniform: T-shirt or pinnie provided by DAA, any black short, skort or kilt
Sticklettes - First & Second Graders
The sticklette program will be run in-house this season, with all DAA teams practicing and playing together in an organized group. Practices will begin the first week in April at Davidsonville Elementary school, and games will be played during the month of May. During the April practices, players will participate in a skills-clinic type format, and then teams will be assigned before games start. DAA sticklette teams will not travel to play other organizations, and all games will be held at Davidsonville Elementary School. Game format will be 6 v. 6 with no goalie on a field approximately 50 yards in length. The focal points of this league will be skill-building and sportsmanship, with some emphasis on the basics of positioning and field play.

Pee Wee - Third & Fourth Graders
This is the first year of county play and all girls must be 8 years old by April 1st to play PeeWee. The games are 8v8, with no checking at this level, and scores are not recorded. Skills evaluation will be conducted in early March and teams will be developed. Practice for all Pee Wee teams will be conduted the same night, twice a week, to be determined by individual coaches and the Commissioner. There are 12 scheduled games that begin the first week in April. Expect Saturday and Sunday games, as well as a few weeknight games. The focal points of this league will be skill-building and sportsmanship, with some emphasis on the basics of positioning and field play.
Uniform: Reversible Racerback Performace Jersey and Black Kilt (Compression Shorts, Sports Bra and Headbands will be offered as optional apparel, in a pattern offered exclusively to DAA)
Middies - Fifth & Six Graders
Middie
games are 12v12 with modified checking and scores are recorded. Fields will
have hard boundaries. Mandatory Try-outs are
scheduled for March 2/3, and practices start the week of March 4th. We intend
to field teams in the 3 divisions offered by the county, A, B, and C, based on
the ability of the participants that sign up. Expect two practices a week that
are required to be attended, with Saturday and some weeknight games. Practice
times and days to be determined by individual coach and the Commissioner. There
are 12 scheduled games that begin the first week in April. The focal points of
this league will be skill-building and sportsmanship, teamwork and positioning,
and introduction to strategy and plays. DAA
expects any player participating on a team to have a commitment to their coach
and teammates to make all practice and games a priority, unless extenuating
circumstances arise.

Juniors - Seventh & Eighth Graders
The games are 12v12 with checking at this level
and scores are recorded. Fields will have hard boundaries. Mandatory Try-outs
are scheduled for end of February, and practices start the beginning of March.
We intend to field teams in the 3 divisions offered by the county, A, B, and C,
based on the ability of the participants that sign up. Expect two to three
practices a week that are required to be attended, with Saturday, Sunday and
some weeknight games. Practice times and days to be determined by individual
coach and the Commissioner. There are 10 scheduled games, plus play-offs.
