A message from our Commissioner, Laura Bjorn

Welcome to DAA spring 2013 Soccer! Registration is expected to open in the first week of January for all spring sports.  We are looking forward to another great season of  County, Youth Development and Dutch soccer.

Please remember that our uniform changed in the fall 2012 season so if you haven't ordered a new one yet, please do so asap. It is best that you remember to order them when you complete registration so you don't forget and you have the best chance of receiving it prior to first games. The County soccer season opener is March 15-17 and runs through the weekend of May 17-19. Practices for county teams will begin around March 1st if weather permits.  All or most of the practices are held at DAA Park or the Ruritan on Davidsonville Rd. .

Youth Development and Dutch soccer will both begin on April 5th and will end May 17th. UK Elite will again be leading these two programs for us to ensure that all of the teams, regardless of team placement, are learning the same techniques. These programs are capped due to field space so register early as its first come first serve.

Please check our web page for specific details regarding any of our soccer programs. Thank you once again for supporting DAA soccer!

 Davidsonville Soccer

Davidsonville Athletic Association has expanded its soccer program to include all ages at all levels of competition. From 4 years old to 18 years old – there is a program for everyone at every level. At the development level, we offer very small teams of 4 to 6 players up to age 18. These games provide lots of playing time in a fun low-key environment. At the beginning level of competitive play, we offer boys and girls County recreational teams. For the committed athlete, our Travel/Select teams provide an elite level of play in the top leagues in Maryland and Virginia.

Which program is best for my player?

Our program is designed to meet the needs of every soccer player at every skill level from beginner, to intermediate, to advanced. Our objective is to introduce soccer to kids as early as age 4 and to create an environment in which every child can enjoy the love of the game while playing without fear of failure. Our program builds upon the age appropriate skill-set that best suits the needs of each player. We have three distinct programs for players from age 4 to age 18. These programs provide a clear path for players to reach their individual potential.

Below, we provide a brief description of our spring programs to help you decide what is best for your player. For more details about each program, click on the program names below. The world of youth sports can be overwhelming, so if you need help in determining the best fit for your player, please contact us: soccer@daagators.org

This program meets the needs of a wide range of kids looking for anything from purely recreational play to those players within our County and Travel programs looking for more ball touches. This is a great opportunity to advance a player’s technical skill set. The program will offer fast, high paced small-sided tactics (4v4) in the simplest format of play. This is a great program for those who want to have a lot of touches and improve their skills. It is also perfect for players that might not be ready or want to commit to the next level of competition. Teams practice once a week and play games on the same night making this program a 90 minute per week commitment.  UK Elite trainers will run this program and provide coaches with a weekly plan of technical skills.

Sign up early! Space may be limited.

Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) is a member of the Anne Arundel Youth Soccer League (AAYSL). DAA teams are grouped by age as governed by Anne Arundel County. This league is the first step in competitive play outside of Davidsonville. Teams travel throughout Anne Arundel County to compete. In the Spring,  the majority of games are played on Sundays  with the possibility of 'A' division teams and all U12 age groups which will play on Friday nights.

The County format is as follows:

U8, U9, and U10:  7 v 7 with a maximum of 12 players per team

U11 and U12: 9 v 9 with a maximum of 15 players per team

U13 and U14: 11 V 11 with a maximum of 18 players on a team

Boys U18: 11 v 11 with a maximum of 18 players on a team.

Girls U18:  7 v 7 on a larger field with larger goals and a maximum of 12 players on a team. There may also be an option for a Girls U18 team to play 11 v 11 as well this season depending on how much interest there is within the league.

Typically, only one team per age group is formed in the spring and no evaluations are needed. Teams are filled on a first-come first-serve basis.

Please contact Jen Dignam at CountySoccer@daagators.org with any questions.
