Basketball

Ages 8 - 17
Your age before September 1 determines your age level in which you may participate.

Registration is open though 11:59pm on October 15th.  Late fees will begin on October 1st. Evaluations are tentatively scheduled to begin the weeks of October 16th and 23rd. More information will be shared after registration is complete.

ALL players must be 8 years old before competing in a county league game. Example: your 7 year old can play on the 8U county Recreation team as long as he/she turns 8 years old on or before the first scheduled game.

League placement is determined by the players age as of September 1.

Practices are twice per week and Games will be held on Saturday’s for ages 8 – 13 and Sunday's for ages 14-17. Practices will begin November 1st.

Recreation and Parks will determine the gym locations that teams will be required to play in, which can be anywhere throughout Anne Arundel County. Teams may play in the same gym every week, but in some cases may have to travel to other locations based on gym availability.

You must have completed registration and payment to attend Evaluations

If you do not attend Evaluations, you will automatically be placed on the lowest level team in your age group no matter what team you played for the previous season.

When there are multiple teams in the same age group, Recreation and Parks requires that youth organizations provide teams for each of the appropriate levels of play, requiring an evaluation to determine teams within those age groups.

There are no coach or friend requests for County basketball team placements. All team placements are based on evaluations.
