Coaches
Davidsonville Gators Swim Team
Davidsonville Swim Team is proud to introduce our coaching staff for the 2023 season. Bringing together decades of experience with competitive swimming and coaching, DST's coaching staff is one of the league's best, most-seasoned and most successful.
Devin Neil
Head Coach
Coach Devin grew up swimming in GASL for eight years with Ulmstead Swim Team and club with SPY. He also coached at Ulmstead as an Assistant Coach for three years. He had the opportunity to swim in the NCAA Division III at Salisbury University.
Devin currently coaches a variety of groups for the Annapolis Swim Club and is also an Assistant Coach for Archbishop Spalding High School’s Men’s Varsity Swim Team. Devin’s favorite strokes are butterfly, IM, and distance freestyle.
This will be Coach Devin's second year as Head Coach. He has served as a coach for DST for the past three summers and led the team to win the GASL Championship in 2022.
Sophia Keller
Assistant Coach
Coach Sophia currently attends the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, where she is continuing her swimming career as a NCAA Division II student athlete.
Sophia swam for several different summer swim teams in the Greater Annapolis Swim League in the past, including two years with DST. Sophia also swam for the Annapolis Swim Club in the Senior Gold group. She is very excited to return to DST again this summer as an Assistant Coach. Sophia hopes to inspire other young swimmers to find love for swimming and continue it for many years to come!
Stephen Henderson
Assistant Coach
Coach Stephen currently serves as the Head Coach for Annapolis Swim Club. Prior to joining ASC, he was the Assistant Head Coach of Columbia Aquatics for the past seven years.
Throughout his time with Annapolis Swim Club and Columbia Aquatics, Stephen has coached swimmers of all different ages and ability levels, from novice swimmers just exiting swim lesson programs, all the way up to high school swimmers who have won State Championship titles, and made Sectionals, Futures, Junior National, and US Olympic Trials level qualifications.
Prior to coaching, Stephen was a competitive swimmer four years at the Catholic University of America, where he was a captain his senior year. Coach Stephen started his swimming career with a summer league team and is excited to return to the DST this season.
Cate LaTour
Junior Coach
Cate LaTour is a 12th grader at South River High School and has grown up swimming for DST! She has three younger sisters (Emily, Anna, and Mia) who are also on the team and will also be a lifeguard at the Harbor Hills pool this summer.
This will be Cate’s second season as a Junior Coach for DST. She is excited to meet all the younger swimmers on the team and help them during practice.
Grayson Hersey
Junior Coach
Grayson Hersey is a rising 10th grader at DeMatha Catholic High School. Grayson began swimming in the Greater Annapolis Swim League at five years old. He has been swimming for Annapolis Swim Club for 8 years and also swims for the DeMatha High School swim team. This will be Grayson's second season as a Junior Coach for DST.
Grayson helped teach his younger sisters, Lulu (11) and Blake (7), to love swimming. When Grayson isn’t diving in the pool for DST this summer, he will be swimming for Congressional Country Club, fishing, or walking the family dog. He looks forward to sharing his love for swimming with our newest Gators and having another spirited CHAMPIONSHIP season.
Chloe Patel
Junior Coach
Chloe is a rising 11th grader at Broadneck High School and began swimming at the age of eleven. Chloe spent one-year in non-competitive swimming and has since transitioned into four years of competitive swimming with Annapolis Swim Club. Chloe also swims for the Broadneck High School swim team. Chloe knew that swimming was the sport for her after countless broken bones and basketballs and volleyballs being thrown in her face. This will be Chloe's second season as a Junior Coach for DST.
Outside of swimming, she enjoys dancing, shopping, seeing movies and spending quality time with friends and family. Chloe is very excited to help all of the swimmers and believes it's important to lead by example and provide a supportive mentorship to help other swimmers succeed both physically and mentally in such a challenging sport.
